Sidereal, with the Lahiri ayanamsa

Western tropical horoscopes treat 0° Aries as the spring equinox — a moving target. Vedic forecasts at DKSCORE use the sidereal zodiac with the Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa, which fixes the rashis to the actual constellations. As of today that puts the offset at roughly 24°15′ — meaning if you've always read yourself as a tropical Cancer, your Moon sign here may well be Gemini. That's a feature, not a bug.

Dasha is the spine; transits are the weather

A monthly forecast at DKSCORE always layers two clocks. The slow one is your Vimshottari mahadasha and antardasha — the multi-year season governing what your chart is built to do. The fast one is the current month's gochara: where the planets actually are in the sky. When the two agree, themes intensify. When they disagree, you'll feel pulled in two directions — and that pull is usually the most interesting paragraph of any forecast we publish.

Why monthly beats daily for the themes that matter

Daily horoscopes have a reach problem. The Moon changes signs every 2¼ days; faster planets shift weekly; the slow ones — Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu — move in seasons measured in months and years. The themes worth planning around (a job change, a wedding muhurta, a relocation, a long-form project) are nearly always governed by the slow planets. A monthly cadence lets us write 1,200–1,800 words on what's actually moving for you.

Remedies: classical first, modern when sensible

Where remedies (upayas) are recommended, we lean on the classical menu — specific mantra japa, Hanuman Chalisa, charity (daana) on relevant weekdays, gemstones only when the chart genuinely supports them. We do not push paid puja services, and we will tell you when a remedy is unnecessary.

Should I read my Moon sign or my ascendant?
Both, in that order. Vedic tradition puts the Janma rashi (Moon sign) first because it governs the mind, emotional tone and day-to-day experience — exactly the layer a monthly forecast is best at describing. The lagna (ascendant) governs the body, vitality and outward life. If you have time for two reads, do the Moon first, then the lagna for external events.
My tropical Western sign and my sidereal Vedic sign are different. Why?
Because the two systems define 0° Aries differently. Western tropical astrology resets it to the March equinox each year, so the zodiac drifts away from the actual stars. Vedic astrology keeps the zodiac fixed to the constellations, currently about 24° behind. So most people born late in any tropical sign land in the previous sidereal one. Neither is wrong — they're answering different questions.
Are predictions on this site deterministic?
No. We write in the language of probability, not prophecy. A planetary period describes a field of likely themes; how you live them is shaped by your samskaras, choices, and free will. Where a forecast says "expect" or "watch for", read it as "this configuration tends to produce" — never as fate.
How do I know which Jyotishi wrote my forecast?

Can I get a personal reading instead of a generic monthly?
Yes — the monthly forecasts are by sign, not by full chart, so they're necessarily one-to-many. A personal reading uses your full birth data (date, exact time, place) to compute your D1 and divisional charts and the dasha clock you are actually running. You can book one through the Consult page; we recommend it for major decisions like marriage timing, business inception, or relocation.
