Who is Macron Emmanuel?

French politician who has been President of France since 14 May 2017. He took office at age 39, becoming the youngest President in French history and the youngest French head of state since Napoleon III. Macron was elected to a second term in the 2022 presidential election, again defeating Marine Le Pen. A former investment banker, he studied philosophy at Paris University, politics at Sciences-Po, and graduated from the Ecole Nationale dAdministration. On 26 August 2014 he was appointed as the Minister of Economy, Industry and Digital Affairs in the Second Valls Government. He resigned on 30th August 2016. In November 2016, Macron declared that he would run in the 2017 presidential election under the banner of En Marche!, a centrist movement he founded in April 2016. He qualified for the runoff after the first round of the election on 23 April 2017. He was elected President on 7 May 2017, having defeated the candidate of the National Front, Marine Le Pen. Same result on 24 April 2022: he was reelected President, defeating Marine Le Pen. On 20 October 2007 in Le Touquet-Paris-Plage, Pas-de-Calais, Macron married Brigitte Trogneux, who is 24 years older than him and was his teacher in La Providence high school, Amiens.
