He is a grandson of King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) of Thailand, and his mother is Srirasmi Suwadee, the Crown Princes third legal wife. The Crown Prince also has a daughter by his first wife, and four sons and a daughter from his second wife, all half-siblings of Dipangkorn. When Vajiralongkorn ended his relationship with his second wife, he also disowned their four sons and said they had renounced their royal titles.
