Welcome friends, today we will delve into the profound world of Vedic astrology, focusing on the activation of the 8th and 12th houses and what is known as the Dance of Gods. I will share a personal experience that highlights the significance of these astrological entities.

Understanding the 8th and 12th Houses

In Vedic astrology, the 8th house is associated with transformation, mysteries, occult sciences, and hidden aspects of life. It governs significant life changes, secrets, and spiritual growth. On the other hand, the 12th house represents isolation, spirituality, losses, and the subconscious mind. It is also linked to foreign travels, long-term confinement, and ultimate liberation.

The Land of Gods: Uttarakhand

My journey begins in the beautiful province of Uttarakhand in India, often referred to as the Land of Gods. This region is renowned for its numerous pilgrimage sites and temples dedicated to important Hindu deities like Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamunotri, Gangotri, Haridwar, and Rishikesh.

Significance of Kul Devta and Gram Devta

In our Sanatan Dharma, apart from the Ishta Devta (personal deity), the Kul Devta (family deity) and the Gram Devta (village deity) play crucial roles. The Kul Devta is a deity that protects the entire lineage of a family, while the Gram Devta safeguards the village from epidemics and other calamities.

A Personal Journey to the Ancestral Village

Despite being a devoted Hindu and an astrologer, I had never visited my ancestral village until recently. On the occasion of Shani Jayanti, which coincided with the new moon in the month of Jyeshtha, I decided to participate in a ritual honoring our village deity, Lord Kal Bhairav, the fierce form of Lord Shiva.

Experiencing the Rituals and Ceremonies

The ritual was a five-day event, starting with honoring and invoking various gods in the afternoon. The main event took place during the night, known as Jagran, where specific individuals get possessed by the gods. This is a unique tradition found in Uttarakhand, where people, under the influence of divine entities, start dancing and performing, often revealing messages from the gods.

The Dance of Gods

During the Jagran, musicians with expertise in invoking spirits performed, creating an atmosphere charged with mystical energy. I felt an exotic, mystical sensation, something that usually occurs only during rituals involving extra-sensory perception and paranormal activities.

Possession by Divine Entities

As the musicians performed, specific individuals from the crowd got possessed by the gods and started dancing. These individuals, under the influence of divine entities, revealed messages about the well-being and safety of the village. It was a sight to behold, witnessing people under the divine trance, behaving in ways that were beyond ordinary human capability.

Astrological Connection

Now, let's connect astrology to this experience. In Vedic astrology, the involvement of the 8th and 12th houses and certain planetary combinations, such as Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu, play a significant role in spiritual and mystical experiences. For instance, if you have a strong 8th house with malefic planets like Mars, Saturn, or Rahu, you possess the capacity to evoke spirits and divine entities.

On the other hand, individuals with a ripe Moon, close to the time of the full moon, or exalted Moon in specific nakshatras like Rohini, can act as successful mediums for divine energies. These individuals can be used as instruments through which divine energies can operate.

Conclusion

The entire experience was uplifting and enlightening. It reinforced the importance of staying connected to our roots, respecting our family and village deities, and understanding the astrological influences that govern our lives. If you ever get a chance to participate in such rituals, especially in Uttarakhand, I highly recommend it. It offers a glimpse into the mystical and divine aspects of life, providing a deeper understanding of our spiritual roots.
