American infant mortality due to crib death, S.I.D.S. When his parents apartment was destroyed by Hurricane Andrew they moved into a crisis shelter and had their baby four days later, naming him after the ferocious hurricane. At nine days, he suffocated in his crib when it tilted and moved him into the corner. He was the 39th death attributed to the hurricane. The seventh child of Natalia and Felipe Guanche, he was born four days after Hurricane Andrew destroyed the apartment building where his family lived. They moved into a crisis shelter and when the baby was born, they named him Andrew after the Hurricane. At nine days, he moved into the corner of his crib causing it to tilt and with his face pressed against the bars, suffocated to death.
