McCook John Biography

American actor, of "Bold and the Beautiful" fame, married to noted actress/dancer Juliet Prowse for five years. McCook began his acting career before a two-year stint in the Army. Upon his release, he began acting on stage. He landed the assignment of the handsome playboy Lance Prentiss on "The Young and the Restless" from 1975-1980. After leaving daytime TV, he performed in many plays and TV shows, and in 1987 undertook the long-term assignment of another soap. This time, he landed the part of the fashion designer Eric Forrester on "Bold and Beautiful" in 1987. His suave good looks and distinguished gray hair suit him in the part. McCook has been married three times, first to Marilyn McPherson from 1962 to 1971 when the marriage ended in divorce. He married Juliet Prowse the following year (1972) and they divorced in 1979 after having one child, a son named Seth born in August 1972. On February 16, 1980 he married Laurette Spang, an actress.
