American actress and film producer whose portrayal of Tammy Faye in the biopic The Eyes of Tammy Faye (2021), which she also produced, earned her the Academy Award for Best Actress. She gained wide recognition for her starring roles in such films as the dramas Take Shelter, The Tree of Life, and The Help. Her performance as an aspiring socialite in the latter earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. In 2012 she played a CIA agent in the thriller Zero Dark Thirty, which won her a Golden Globe Award and gained her a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress. She began dating Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo in 2012, an Italian count of the Passi de Preposulo noble family, who is an executive for the fashion brand Moncler. On 10 June 2017 she married Preposulo at his familys estate in Carbonera, Italy. In 2018, the couple had a daughter through surrogacy. They later had a second daughter.
