Biography

Who is Crosby Dennis?

American actor and noted family, the third son of Bing and Dixie Crosby, a twin born three minutes after his brother Phillip. Both boys served in the U.S. Army and both married show girls in 1958; Denis had four kids. At age 21 the boys came into a trust fund of $200,000. For a while all four boys joined in a nightclub act, all drinking and carousing, which led to their separation by late 1959. Denny had an afternoon DJ show in L.A. and he starred on the TV series "Blue Angels." He was the quietist of all the boys and never really comfortable on stage. His mother died on 1 November 1952, and his father on 14 October 1977. After his youngest brother, Lindsay committed suicide by shooting himself in the head on 11 December 1989 in Las Virgines, California, Dennis became increasingly depressed. He had recently broken up with his girlfriend, Meg Muir, and had reportedly begun drinking heavily, a relapse after years in AA. On late Saturday, 4 May 1991, he was found dead in his home in Novato, California, a suicide by gunshot to the head, a 12-gauge shotgun nearby. Link to Wikipedia biography

Crosby Dennis birth chart analysis for Ascendant

In Vedic astrology, the natal lagna (ascendant) in Cancer, especially in Pusya nakshatra, has a significant influence on an individual's personality and life path. Cancer is a water sign ruled by the Moon, which imbues the native with emotional depth, sensitivity, and a nurturing disposition. When the ascendant falls in Pusya nakshatra, it adds layers of wisdom, spiritual inclination, and a tendency towards benevolence. Pusya nakshatra, symbolized by the udder of a cow, signifies nourishment and growth. Natives with this nakshatra are often seen as caring, supportive, and inclined towards helping others. They possess a strong sense of duty and responsibility, often striving to create a harmonious and secure environment for their loved ones. This nakshatra is also associated with the deity Brihaspati, the guru of the gods, further enhancing the native's inclination towards learning and imparting wisdom. When the Moon, the lord of Cancer, is placed in the first house in its own sign and in Aslesha nakshatra, it amplifies the emotional and intuitive qualities of the native. Aslesha is known for its mystical and transformative energies. It is symbolized by a coiled serpent, indicating depth, intuition, and a profound understanding of the human psyche. This placement suggests that the individual may possess a complex emotional nature, with heightened intuition and an ability to perceive underlying truths. They may have a magnetic presence, capable of influencing others subtly. However, this combination also brings challenges. The native may experience fluctuating moods and a tendency towards introversion. The influence of Aslesha can sometimes lead to internal conflicts or a struggle with emotional transparency. Despite these challenges, the native's inherent nurturing and protective instincts remain strong, allowing them to form deep, lasting connections with others. Overall, this astrological configuration suggests a person who is emotionally rich and deeply perceptive, with a natural ability to nurture and protect, albeit with a need to manage their intense emotional energies constructively.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about this profile's Vedic astrology, birth chart, and numerology — answered by our astrologers.

How does Vedic astrology describe the deeper life purpose driving Crosby Dennis?

Crosby Dennis, born with a Life Path 1, was astrologically destined to forge an independent identity rather than live in the shadow of a famous name. The Life Path 1 energy compels a person toward self-leadership and originality. With Cancer ascendant and Cancer Moon, his soul's journey involved establishing emotional security on his own terms, a quest made profoundly difficult by early maternal loss and the enormous legacy of his father Bing Crosby.

What does the birth chart of Crosby Dennis reveal about his path in entertainment and the military?

Crosby Dennis carried a Vedic Sun in Gemini, a sign associated with communication, performance, and versatility, which naturally drew him toward entertainment. His Cancer ascendant adds sensitivity and an instinct for connecting with audiences. The presence of Budhaditya Yoga, even in a weakened form, links Mercury and the Sun, supporting intellectual expression and public performance. His chart also reflects disciplined Martian energy consistent with his military background before his acting career.

Where and when was Crosby Dennis born?

Crosby Dennis was born on July 13, 1934, in Los Angeles, United States. Astrologically, this birth date places him under the tropical Cancer Sun sign, with the Moon also in Cancer according to his Vedic chart, and a Cancer ascendant. This triple Cancer emphasis made him a deeply feeling, family-oriented individual who was simultaneously burdened and shaped by the intense emotional weight of his lineage.

Which personality traits stand out most clearly when reading Crosby Dennis's astrological chart?

Crosby Dennis's chart is dominated by Cancer energy across the Sun, Moon, and ascendant, producing a nature that is deeply sensitive, emotionally retentive, and strongly tied to family bonds. The Moon afflicted by Ketu through Grahan Dosha points to emotional turbulence, inner restlessness, and recurring bouts of melancholy. Life Path 1 gave him a drive for independence, yet the Cancerian core meant he felt losses, particularly of loved ones, with exceptional and lasting intensity.

Is Crosby Dennis a Cancer in Western astrology, and what does that sign say about him?

Yes, Crosby Dennis is a Cancer by Western tropical astrology, born on July 13, 1934. Cancer is ruled by the Moon, making its natives nurturing yet deeply vulnerable to emotional wounds. For Crosby Dennis, this resonated profoundly: his life was marked by successive personal losses, including his mother, his father Bing Crosby, and his brother. Cancer's well-known difficulty in releasing grief aligns with the severe depression he experienced following his brother's death.

Which yogas in Crosby Dennis's horoscope account for his famous surname and the financial inheritance he received?

Crosby Dennis carries Vasumitra Yoga and Rajju Yoga in his chart, both of which indicate material resources and a certain protective karmic thread through life. The trust fund he received from his father Bing Crosby aligns with Vasumitra Yoga's promise of wealth through lineage. However, the weakened Budhaditya Yoga and the deeply afflicting Grahan Dosha on the Moon show that inherited fame and fortune came entwined with emotional suffering, ultimately overshadowing the protective promise of these yogas.
