He partnered great ballerinas such as Ghislaine Thesmar, Natalia Bessmertnova, Ekaterina Maximova, Natalia Makarova and Sylvie Guillem. He created many premiere roles in ballets by leading choreographers such as Maurice Béjart, Jerome Robbins, Merce Cunningham, Patrice Bart, Roland Petit and Alvin Ailey.
