Who is Ferrando Augusto?

Peruvian television presenter and equestrian announcer who had a long and successful career. For 30 years, he hosted the popular competition programme Trampolín a la fama and was manager of La Peña Ferrando, a comedy-musical troupe that for more than a decade toured the neighbourhoods of Lima and the provinces. He died in Lima at age 80 on 1 February 1999. He was posthumously awarded the "Golden Window" prize by Panamericana Televisión which was accepted by his son Juan Carlos Ferrando, who became a noted LGBT rights activist.
