American writer with more than 40 published books of poems and plays. A large Selected Anthology was released in 2002 in The American Discovery Series of the University of Illinois. Ferrinis works are listed in the Encyclopedia of American Literature of the Sea and Great Lakes. His autobiography, "Hermit of the Clouds" 1988, was also published in Japanese and his poetry is included in major anthologies.
