Biography

Dutch pro astrologer with focus on classical astrology, researches Hellenistic astrology. Representative of a deterministic astrology concept. At first he delved into Freudian and Jungian influenced psychological astrology. He has been a consultant since 1987. Together with his then astrology teacher Jerome Korse, he published the book Astrologie als bevrijding en ontplooiing van jezelf (astrology as a path to self-liberation and self-development) in 1989. Since 1998 classical astrology has been his astrological home, after he had already come into contact with Morinus work through Project Hindsight four years earlier and the subject matter fascinated him more and more. What bothered him about psychological astrology was that it could not explain something like fate, and even implied that everyone could determine his life with his free will at will. His curriculum vitae taught him that there is a determined destiny, and so he sought an answer to it in astrology, which he found in classical astrology. From 1998 to 2001 he edited Anima Astrologiae, the magazine for classical astrology. In 2004, his compendium on hourly astrology, astrology as ambacht, de astroloog as vakman. Hermes is webmaster of the Astrological Vakvereiniging Nederland (AVN). In 2008 followed his work on the classical Hellenistic technique of aphesis. Read less
