Who is Robertson Robbie?

Canadian guitarist, singer, songwriter, film composer, producer, actor, and author. Robertson is best known for his work as lead guitarist and primary songwriter for the Band, and for his career as a solo recording artist. His work with the Band was instrumental in creating the Americana music genre. Robertson has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Canadian Music Hall of Fame as a member of the Band, and has been inducted to Canadas Walk of Fame both with the Band and on his own. As a songwriter, Robertson is credited for writing "The Weight", "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down", "Up on Cripple Creek", "Broken Arrow", "Somewhere Down the Crazy River", and many others. Robertson has been inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, and received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Songwriters. As a film soundtrack producer and composer, Robertson is best known for his numerous collaborations with director Martin Scorsese. Robertsons working relationship with Scorsese began with the influential rockumentary film The Last Waltz (1978), and continued through numerous dramatic films such as Raging Bull (1980) and Casino (1995). Robertson has also worked on many other soundtracks for film and television. Robertson co-authored "Legends, Icons And Rebels: Music That Changed The World" with his son, Sebastian Robertson and colleagues Jim Guerinot and Jared Levine. He also wrote "Hiawatha And The Peacemaker," illustrated by David Shannon. His autobiography, "Testimony," written over the course of five years, was published by Crown Archetype in November 2016. In 1967, Robertson married Dominique Bourgeois, a Canadian journalist. They later divorced. Together they have three children: daughters Alexandra and Delphine, and son Sebastian.
